Well, there's no question that pumping heat-trapping pollution into the atmosphere creates a greenhouse effect. This is pretty basic science, and can be seen by comparing the climates of different planets in the solar system.
The only thing up for debate is whether the world's 5 billion people, with their zillions of cars, constant burning of oil, massive electricity use, etc, are pumping enough to create such an effect.
Most scientists say its happening. However some people say it is all a conspiracy theory by evil governments who want to control us. Personally I remain undecided until I see a cat spontaneously incinerate or something.

I dunno which conspiracy theory to follow on this topic. That it's real, or that it isn't.

Notice the following bit there: "Global warming IS REAL..."Quite different from what 90% of conservative politicians in the U.S. believe, or, sadly, a lot of people on this site who have bought into oil industry propaganda.

Climate change skeptic Bjorn Lomborg (featured in the documentary film "Cool It") says we're so panicked about climate change we can't think straight.
"Al Gore was good in getting our attention to global warning, "said Lomborg. "And Global warming is real, but he did so by scaring the pants off of us and that's not a good way to go down if you are going to make good decisions."

climate "CHANGES".
The debate was worth having.

As I understand it we're in an el nino year.... which moves about irrespective of climate change

latif discussed this in September - "I am not one of the sceptics," insisted Mojib Latif of the Leibniz Institute of Marine Sciences at Kiel University, Germany. "However, we have to ask the nasty questions ourselves or other people will do it."

but in other news
Melbourne has suffered its hottest night since 1902 as a heat wave grips southern Australia (12 January 2010)
- Who was responsible for the heat in Melbourne in 1902?seeessess

that was fast
-The world could be in for a spell of cooler temperatures, rather than hotter conditions, as a result of cyclical changes in ocean currents for the next 20 or 30 years, it is predicted.
Research by Professor Mojib Latif, one of the world's leading climate modellers, questions the widely held view that global temperatures will rise rapidly over the coming years.
But Prof Latif, of the Leibniz Institute at Germany's Kiel University and an author for the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), believes that the cool spell will only be a temporary interruption to climate change

with global warming everyone except corporation is culpable,
and everyone is going to pay (cash money) for it except corporations.

Polluting pets: the devastating impact of man's best friend
PARIS (AFP) – Man's best friend could be one of the environment's worst enemies, according to a new study which says the carbon pawprint of a pet dog is more than double that of a gas-guzzling sports utility vehicle.
But the revelation in the book "Time to Eat the Dog: The Real Guide to Sustainable Living" by New Zealanders Robert and Brenda Vale has angered pet owners who feel they are being singled out as troublemakers.
The Vales, specialists in sustainable living at Victoria University of Wellington, analysed popular brands of pet food and calculated that a medium-sized dog eats around 164 kilos (360 pounds) of meat and 95 kilos of cereal a year.
Combine the land required to generate its food and a "medium" sized dog has an annual footprint of 0.84 hectares (2.07 acres) -- around twice the 0.41 hectares required by a 4x4 driving 10,000 kilometres (6,200 miles) a year, including energy to build the car.
