GRL & Realtors, LLP:
small realty company east coast, using close to existing colors and type. they want to represent city life/living and keep people who know their original image satisfied.this is round 2 with these guys, they really dont want to change what they have, the original is the first image.

The last logo is nice!

I keep thinking Girl and Realtor.

well it's better than what they have, but I can tell you right now your chances of getting them to buy the rubber-stamped look are slim to none.
It looks like a nice logo for a brewery, in my opinion. Too bad you hafta use existing type, because Copperplate needs to die.

i think maybe i like 4 left.
do not get too destroyed(4 right) the building is hard to distinguish.where did you get the destroyed vector pattern?
- xenicon0
that or greenland world cup tee?
- kyl30
while I like the marks, I'm not sure if the weathered look instills confidence in the offerings of a reality company.

4 left and 5 right are good. I agree about not having too much destruction. But a little is fine.

(Jun 14 06, 11:55)nice idea for getting that look...again tho, I'm seeing brewery or Eddie Bauer, not real estate.

(Jun 14 06, 11:57)it totally has that feel. if they have to stick with that ass hat of a typeface then so be it, but i don't think it needs to be distressed. IMHO
- ldww0
and then converted it to vector in flash?

doesnotexist. nice work on your site. nice!!!
- doesnotexist0
brought it into photoshop and created a working path, pasted it in illustrator.
- ldww0
hmm, working path. is that some kind of alien technology. i need to look into that.
- doesnotexist0
how can i get around this looking like a brewery? if they want the type and the colors?
maybe change up the image of the brownstones

What does the bldg represent? Is it their office? If so, then nevermind... If it just represents 'real esate', then maybe try talking them into a new modern bldg to go with their 'new look'?

To be honest with you, i don't like any of them (please don't hate me) all the logos appear to be overly complex when they shouldn't need to be, there's to much going on.
Simplify the logo, make sure it works in black. Oh, and don't show the client any more than three versions.

i think there needs to be more of an integration between the type and the mark. i'd loose the different shapes, badges, whathaveyou and the grit effect, they're really just stylistic differences and don't add much to the indentity.
might want to look at something along these lines if that's the style they like:

think 'shelter'...then see what that conjures for you.
I'd abandon the stamped look, and try customizing Copperplate for those letters to not have those retarded serifs...
or you could just try to implement some similarly strong but more currently relevant typography, like Trade Gothic Extended or Gotham. Keep their colors, and tell them the new type is part of the whole facelift you're giving them. Would it really hurt to propose that?
