OK, here's why they're so inexpensive(LV homes):
WINDOWS (NOT included in the kit home package)
INTERIOR FINISHES (NOT included in the kit home package)
ELECTRICAL /PLUMBING/ MECHANICAL (NOT included in the kit home package)
ROOFING SYSTEM (NOT included in the kit home package)

davey_g, did you look into the cost of the glazing(windows) on those places?
- davey_g0
Good glass on a LV seemed like it was around $25K...got that info from one of their building spec documents online. It was great because they had every detailed cost involved of the flagship model home in MO., which ended up costing about $125K as spec'd or stripped down a bit for about $95K, this of course does not include the land.
Hopefully one day I'll be in one of those, for now it's all about my historic bungalow that's all modern inside:

Nice davey... where is that at... looks like pasadena

Thx mang. It's in Salt Lake City and I picked it up for $169K last december, then dropped about $15K into it. Fucking bargain and I totally love it.

NICE! no way to find that price here in los angeles heh

thanks for the info davey, 125k is too bad. I could pick up 9 acres up in the hills north of boulder for 70k. Of course shipping and building will get you to 300k pretty fast, with septic, solar, etc

... isn't too bad...

I know man...that's one reason I can't live in Cali, too hard to survive there and buy a place!

kyl3, if you can get the land...and 9 acres would be pimp...that LV would be a score and a half and one hell of an investment. The LVL would be the way to go, a little larger, not much more $$.
