thats true, i guess it depends on who you hang out with
i used to have really ghetto friends and they didnt care and other who were more up tight, they used all talk about cars / cloths / girls / boys / .. thoese types are usually boring..

where is it?
is it cheap?
can i take it?

Venice is fine, if you are in the right place, not that bad at all. Abbot Kinney is really nice for bars and resaurants etc. I live down by the beach and its quite wonderful..

dude, what you wear and what you drive only matters if it matters to you. get some self esteem and wear whatever you want.
you will need a car and a thomas guide.

Well, look up in neighborhoods like Fort Greene. That is a really up-and-coming neighborhood that is relatively cheap NOW, but definitely not in 2 years. Beautiful brownstones on tree-lined blocks.
Park Slope is very nice, but the prices have increased tremendously.
Williamsburg would've been your best bet 4 years ago. Now it's full of yups and post-hipsters and high rents.
Inwood, or near the Columbia area is very nice as well.
These are all areas that suit me, mind you. I like being around tree-lined blocks lacking yups and hipsters.

Another question I had I guess was, what are some pretty cool neighborhoods that I should look into?
Location I guess is somewhat key, given that most of the studios I want to work at are in Venice, or Santa Monica
