So was this classless and predictable?
- TheBlueOne0
Imus did this to Clinton a few years back... it was classless and predictable.
Pretty much the same BS from Colbert, only the lefties love it this time.

True, but you know, Clinton wasn't dismantaling the Constituition at the time and invading other nations all willy nilly. And what really pissed off the Republicans was that he got a blow job for free, and wasn't you know paying for it in cash like those nice GOP Senators and lobbyists at the Watergate last year...you guys just hate getting shit for free on the government dime don't ya..*raises lefty power to the people fist

The target of Colbert wasn't Bush and more than Scalia ( though that was funny) it was the co-opted press.
Best I can make out the press could deal with Clinton's scandal because it was basically a tabloid story. Its not like they let that story die.
With Bush, Colbert pointed out their job is typing and they did it very well.

i don't think it's classless at all. It's a longstanding tradition and necessary. Nobody dares speak to the king like the jester, and we all know W is a bit short on viewpoints.

the first lady might has well told him to fuck off at the end there.

wow... how uncomfortable to watch ... at first...
... but i forced myself through it and all I can say is Mr. Colbert handed everyone their ass it seems - but I'm wondering if it was suicidal... kinda like Norm Macdonald when he shot his mouth off in front of the prez...
... but colbert poked fun at everyone... and kept to his schtick as it were - making NO SENSE yet making complete sense..
... bah... I'm torn - because I know the Bush haters out there love this... LOVE IT... and the bush supporters are a little unsure of even what to say...
... all I can say is it was a Ballsy set of words that made for a very uncomfortable - yet funny... yet akward 16 minutes...
... anyway - more power to Colbert for moving forward with it... I don't think it hurt him or his career.
- mrdobolina0
shit...
colbert probably increased his audience by about 500,000.
Bush supporters?
Those people are too worried about where their next bottle of bargain gin is coming from.

put him on the list

it would've been better if colbert had worked to make the distinction between liberalism and actual journalism

Enter response:woah - now that would've been an uncomfortable moment of irony... unveiling that their really isn't a distinction (yeah there is... just not much of one) :)

Enter response:eh... the term 'liberal' in general should go away now - between righty talk radio and the dipshits on the 'left' who can't keep their mouths shut and their faces out of the limelight: the two mangled the true meaning of 'liberal' years ago.
- mrdobolina0
bush is actually a neo-liberal, look at the fucking budget. what is conservative about that?
I thought idealism was liberal.

see dobs?
i'm confused... 'neo-liberal'... 'idealism = liberal'...
I don't think I'm really going to care much more from this point on... I gotta worry about making it to 35 right now.
- mrdobolina0
small government, states rights.
- mrdobolina0
tax and spend liberal versus borrow and spend neo-con.
- mrdobolina0
I'm talking like Son right now, but whatever.

Enter response:
tax and spend sucks... give give give
I'll borrow all day long!... that way everyone makes money... and the economy keeps moving... but we don't like making money... do we?
