Thanks for all the links but still looking, the first one is too basic, cant add details and separate time blocks and not any good way to export details.
The Harvest one is great, I signed up but it doesnt really track the time for me, its better for general time clocking with multiple users
I use a vaio so the third one wont work but it looks brilliant.

Not really a program, but I am doing contract work for a marketing company, and they actually use this function fox - timefox system that is pretty sweet, i just log in, select the client, and project i am working for, input my hours and a description and it logs it all for later
if there are any freee php scripts that would be installable on ones own server, I think that would be handy.
