I don't care much for fw800 and dual layer writing tho. But the extra 20gb and 2" seems nice.
What would you do?

(Apr 24 06, 09:43)i would start to care about the fw800 and dual writing layer- infinitly more valuable than 20 gigs. you do realize you can replace that HD yourself?

This thing about it being to hard to carry or hard to find a bag for it is just a total myth.

(Apr 24 06, 09:36)um, so i own one and find it too difficult to carry, how is that a myth?
- Meeklo0
so the 17" has FW800 then?
- jimeeboy510
i dont plan on using DL. the media costs too much. what do most people use it for? copying movies? i guess it would be better suited for people that play with DV a lot. thats where fw800 would help out most as well as the DL.
still a lil irritated....

is it too late to return it?
- jimeeboy510
no its not. apple has a 14 day return/refund policy...with a 10% restocking fee. ouch. they should offer a rebate or something to compensate this for 15" mbp owners.

how hard is it to find warez for mac?
- e-pill0
i dont see why 2" and slightly better addition is better than a 15" MBP.
get a 15" with a flat large LCD display.
-also on a side note, as a laptop backpack designer i find it totally insane that you people that claim there isnt a 17" bag for your laptop...just contact the bag manufacturer and ask them to send you the larger size bag...you have to consider that shelf space in a store is limited and putting the sammler bags on the floor makes so much more sense than the large bags as space is severly limited.
i highly doubt that and bag design vendor will not make a bag to fit a mac 17 considdering that most pc laptops are 10x thicker and even larger.

This is probably a taboo subject around here, but it's probably not any harder to get warez for Mac than for PC. The challenge is Adobe's activation.

I am waiting for the 13.3".
Small, lightweight and will be expanded by a 20" monitor at home.

ordered.
BAMMMMMM.

there are tons of bags fore the 17"...if you think I am lying I can take a photo of mine to prove it.
Also 17" in dimentions is not that much bigger than a 15" especially with the bag that I carry it in, it makes no difference, but the extra monitor space does make a big difference, and yes I carry it daily also, sometimes when I take it to school I am hiking a few miles with it.
17" is worth it....Nac's stamp of approval

Is it possible to hook one of these or a 15" to 2 separate external monitors side by side?
- welded0
If they're anything like the PPC versions, then yes. I used to do this while using Director all the time. Check the specs on it and you should see a hookup for a monitor.
- DogsBreath0
I know you can hook up one external monitor. Just wondering if it is possible to somehow hook up 2 monitors so I can use 2 20" Cinema Displays with the Macbook lid closed.

I have my 15" hooked up to a 20" Dell LCD ($330ish). Pretty swanky. They all come with DVI out, and VGA converter cable if you need that.
