my mom has taught special needs kids all my life and i spent a lot of time growing up with them and their families.
they'd tell me it's a nightmare to have people tiptoe around them.
but, then again, this was in america, where spaz is never really used. retard still makes me cringe, though.

I'm pretty quick to call my friends retarded but from true experience, if I see someone picking on or making fun of a handicap person to put down or exclude I'll be the first to be in their face.
There is nothing wrong with being handicapped or different but there is something very wrong with being intolerant and tactless.
Being that people are easily offended by words here I apologize for calling the article retarded and will refrain using derogatory comments...
