as far as the entry level thing goes, the job isn't entry level, but i am just out of school last year so while the job itself is above entry level, i'm reaching with my qualifications... but they dig my portfolio so i'm not complaining.
but yeah, thanks for the advice, everyone's been saying 38-40 are good numbers to go for.

Always, always, always ask for more. 35k on major brands. Too low. Ask for 50K, at least. Be tough with money.

47K

if you're midlevel like I'm guessing, you should be making at LEAST $40k. I'd ask for $45k in the northwest. I've been working for 3 years, that's exactly what I would ask for in that part of the country. Check the AIGA site for salary stats. I've been on a billion interviews lately and haven't had a single person balk at that price.
And I just got a job on Monday.
The size of the firm doesn't affect salary like you might think. If the firm is successful and like sto treat it's people well, you should be able to ask for a very competitive salary.

If you're above entry level you should be above 35K.

non entry level? what doest that mean? exactly, how many yrs of experience do you have?

Sounds low to me too... at least ask for 5-7k more.

35 sounds low. double it and see what they say =P

big interview tomorrow. got most of it figured out, i'm not nervous in interviews really and i do quite well in person. however a question i always get stopped up on is salary. for non-entry level design working predominantly for major clients in a relatively small firm (from what i gather), what's a good salary to 'expect'/barter with? i was guessing around 35 (location: pacific northwest).
thanks in advance. new to this whole 'firm instead of freelance' thing.
