if you're midlevel like I'm guessing, you should be making at LEAST $40k. I'd ask for $45k in the northwest. I've been working for 3 years, that's exactly what I would ask for in that part of the country. Check the AIGA site for salary stats. I've been on a billion interviews lately and haven't had a single person balk at that price.
And I just got a job on Monday.
The size of the firm doesn't affect salary like you might think. If the firm is successful and like sto treat it's people well, you should be able to ask for a very competitive salary.
