with the most recent allegations of Steroid use ......
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com…are his accomplishments legit?
how will it affect his induction into the Hall of Fame?
- flavorful0
I don't know, I always secretley hoped he was telling the truth.
Doesn't look good.
So not good that I think it overshadows the fact that before he started using he would have been in the Hall of Fame anyway.
- mrdobolina0
in what year did he just physically blow up. I would like to compare photos of him during those years.
- jondj240
yeah...i am a fan of his but like you said it doesn't look good.
- Ramanisky20
apparantly right after the 1998 season when Mark McGwire & Sosa broke the homerun records
- Clear0
hope it isn't true. Would really hurt the sport.
If it is, well he records will be thrown out and i'm sure he would have a really hard time getting into the hall of fame.

in the link I posted check out the photo Gallery and look at the insane difference in his physical build ... I know you can beef up by just working out with weights
but Bonds .. come on

GQ had a photo spread showing the muscular evoltion of Jason Giambi using his baseball cards, and it was astounding. He went from a scrawny sub 200 lb. dork to a freaking hulk. There's no way that it wasn't from stereoids.
All those steroid guys, they have a common look. That huge neck, blended into their jaw line.

you know, this is getting old! and lets just get the fuzz over with.
this is only an issue cus of the record he going after , and since half of the league was juiced anyway , I did not see anyone else hitting homeruns every other day like bonds , so we know its not all juice if any ... so it takes more then juice to hit 73 HRs , cause everyone that has been cought never did it, so lets get off this he is only good and hitting hrs cus he is juiced , its just not true ...
just about everyone gains weight through time ...

cruz_azul, I think the main problem with this is Bonds' vehementley consistent denial about ever doping.
And the overwhelming intricate documentation that looks like he not only did, but took it to such levels he'd make Hunter S. Thompson blush about his drug intake.

he, mcguire and sosa should not get a sniff of the hall of fame. if pete rose is out for gambling, how is jucing not worse. we'll see what happens in 10-15 years when their health is all jacked like lyle alzado style
- jondj240
also to his credit...when a came back for that brief time last year, he was dominant again with very little practice time. For baseball, you definitely need practice time at that level.
- mrdobolina0
Yup, look at photos of all these record-breakers. The guys are barrel-chested like a fucking popeye cartoon.
- flavorful0
They are exactly like Popeye actually.
Except instead of Spinach it's designer steroids and instead of eating the Spinach they're injecting it in their buttocks.

1 side of the coin:
His career started in 1983. Any guy in the gym, who puts in maybe 4-5 days a week and can spend about $150 bucks a month can put on about 10lbs of lean muscle a year. Now, Bonds who is a multimillionair, has the top trainers and equipment at his fingertips and any supplement he wants can easily put on 10 a year. Easy. Just say from '83 - '03 at 10lbs a year that's 200lbs. Impossible but you get my point. Only from 97' - 05' did I see a big gain. That being said he may have worked harder and in 8 years could have put on 80lbs of lean muscle mass. Possible.Other side of the coin:
The steroids they say he uses are all the norm with bodybuilders. It's not necessarily the strength he got from the steroids but more the feeling you get when you're on them. (So I've heard). You quite literally feel invincible... and are extremely testy. Take for example his fight with his own player in his own dugout. Case in point. You have a super short fuse. And like the legal stuff, the illegal stuff is at his fingertips as well, and money for it is not an issue. That being said though, I just can't believe anyone who is anyone famous would willingly buy and use steroids from anyone. Even the people they trust.
Some of you know I have a few close friends who play for the sox, I've heard they talk of using this or that before they play for a boost, but it's all natural stuff that even I can get over the counter. They too were like 'We really can't just walk up to a guy and say we want steroids, even anyone we know because they will know... and eventually they'll get caught and somewhere they have a list with your name on it.'
I'm really up in the air if Bonds did in fact take them or not. If he did it pisses me off cause he has the money, trainers, natural supplements, and equipment to do it all legally and it chaps my ass he took the easy way out.
- cruz_azul0
understood, but MLB did not have any policy what soever against using roids back then , so Im just tired of hearing about this over and over and over ... hell i nver really cared much for Bond (Dodger Fan) but seems like everyone is out to get him , and the question is WHY? to discredit his records , so what if he did and wont admit it , how does that take anything away from what he did on the field , Giambi was juiced and never hit 50 hr's , so what is the point people are trying to make ... and why
- BonRickles0
please cruz. he's a juicer deluxe, and he's an asshole to his team mates. if the league is so fucking lax, i say let em juice. make it ok to juice. fuckin juice on the on-deck circle. and give em metal bats while they are at it.
- motokiss20
well maybe u are allowed to take steroids if u are hung like an animal and in Bonds case a horse!!
- mrdobolina0
cruz, your argument makes no sense.
Using your logic, is it cool to put vaseline on the ball to make it break differently?
- BonRickles0
bonds equipment manager said he went up like 3 head sizes.
3 head sizes.
