Mission Hill is a good "compromise" neighborhood.
Close enough to Brookline to play rich.
Ghetto enough to be cheap.
It's moving up.
- GreedoLives0
ha i used to live on mission hill back in the mass art days when it was just emerging from ghetto status. could listen to the gunshots from the projects. funny thing is, my girlfriend's grandparents grew up on mission hill, apparently it was a solid irish neighborhood a long time ago before going slummy.
the heath street end of the hill is still mega sketchy, but there's some beautiful old houses up there, and the view is dope.

um what DIDNT start as an irish neighborood? (besides the north end)
- GreedoLives0
chinatown was all german boarding houses in the 1880s, JP was mainly german as well.
- mattyd0
haha, north end started as an irish neighborhood first.

my ex-girlfriend from college used to live on the south huntington/huntington corner, really sketchy. a bunch of friends of mine lived around there too. used to be reallllly sketchy behind the apartments until they put up that n-star station.
and greedo, funny you should mention your girlfriends grandparents living there. when i went to northeastern, we went to a frat party up on the hill (always lame). but when we were walking into the frat house, my buddy was like "weird, my parents grew up in this house."

Dude, I had to crack a few hahpoons the other night when the sox bus left. going down in march to see some exhibition games.
the rotation this year will be sick. my biggest worries are guolke's knees and lowell. We need lowell to protect manny and papi. the D will be awesome. especially in the infield.
- GreedoLives0
who's gonna lead off i wanna know...
and is manny gonna show to spring training? he threatened he wouldn't if he didnt get traded...

I am getting a bit sick of "Manny Being Manny".....its time for Manny to shut the fuck up and play some ball. Except, I gotta say, last year when he went into the green monster and was just hanging out cause it was hot and there was a fan in there was one of the funniest things I've ever seen in baseball.......I think I laughed for about 10 minutes straight when that happened.
This is the best Sox line up I've seen in my lifetime.....IMHO. But, of course, they will kick ass up until the All Star break and then start to fall off the face of the earth for the next 4 weeks after the break....and then, with 2.5 weeks left in the season they will start kicking ass again and pull within 1 or 2 games of the Yanks....blah blah blah....same shit every year but boy do I fucking love it!
