Where have you been the last few internet years?
I'm already married with Firefox.

its another fucking browser to worry about.

right,at this point it is looking at ~10% marketshare, so you need it if you are developing websites.
happily, on WinXP it sets up like the Safari 2. yea!

FF is better. The CSS you can do (with codes actually working) is just amazing. Try the same codes in IE, and it'll look crappy.
That's also what sucks though. I think most designers are making their sites more FF-friendly, but the world is still using IE, for the most part. Hopefully it'll change in the next few years.

...................................this is true FF supports more CSS properties then IE and IE has a different 'box model' but you should always design for the lowest common denominator i.e IE's lack of support

Basically use Safari if your on a Mac (its muc faster on a mac than Firefox) and use Firefox if your on a PC.
Tabbed browsing sould be enough to change anyones browsing habbits.

I like IE better. I am using an old machine for the web, so that may be causing it, but FF is just far too slooooow for me. I know others have had this problem, too.
So I gave up and went back to IE. The new version of IE will have tabs.
I also didn't like that when you hit CTRL+N, it made a new window but opened to your homepage, not your current page. That's something I use at least 100 times a day.

whats the deal with tabs?? why is it so amazing.. windows has had tabs (look down at you task bar) for years.

It's not another browser to worry about. Your code should work consistenty in all standards compliant browsers if it's valid. IE with it's lack of support of web standards is the other browser you have to worry about.

IE is just asking you to get spyware and shit like that.

Without FF tabs I would die. Very serious about it.

the benefit of using netscape, ie, ff, and opera, is that uf you code PROPERLY, it will look the same in each browser, if it doesn't, you've made a mistake, not the browser.
stop blaming browsers for your poor code people

FF is extremely overrated although it is the browser I use for lack of better alternatives.

It helps out while designing, if something looks good in FF, it will usually look good in Safari or another Standards Based browser. Then I can go back and fix mistakes that show up in IE, I usually get through projects faster that coding for IE and fixing for FF or Safari.
