i'm new to it and am having some weird problems. i'm taking screen video using snapzpro at full screen. those quicktimes look perfect. the problem is when i bring them into fcp i have to shrink them down (for final output of 270x230)
when i watch the exported QT it's all wavy and pixel shifting. basically it looks like shit. how can i avoid this? i've tried dif. output settings but it's still the same. is it because i am taking full screen video and shrinking it down? is there any possible way to make this look better? arrrgghh. this stuff takes forever and to render takes even longer. any help please?

wel..it has to do with your import settings...each time when you load footage into fcpro, you must adjust your settings.
and for the export, use compresoor to export it,don't use the export movie function...with the compressor you can really tune your image...
look into fcpro extensive help section...

thanks tank. the thing is, even previewing it in the canvas window it does the same thing?!
i shouldn't have to adjust my setting for each video i import if they are all the same size and almost the same material would i?

no just the one..how didya imort the footage...upper field first?

you know sometimes the canvas viewer window is misleading... I was once working with txt, and it looked blurry and fuzzy but when I viewed on a NTSC monitor it looked fine.

check your audio/video setups...there lies the prob and you formaat is also a bit strange..i would just use a native pal or ntsc format and crop it in after effects to the desired format.

thanks all. i would love to actuall post a vid. up so you could see what is happening but the file sizes are beyond large so that won't work : \
i did a bunch of test and it seems as if remapping the time (ie speeding the clip up) really makes the final output look like shit.
damn, i can usually pick things up relatively quick but with this program i feel like i am going through potty training again : \

bump. so i've done some more testing and i think the poor quality or pixel shifting of the video has got to have something to do with shrinking the actual capture and time remapping...i think.
i have a small example to vew an d if anyone can guide me into fixing this it would be much appreciated : )

its yur field matey, yur field are messed up.
i recommey you to the time remapping en de cropping in after effects...

hey tank. thanks again!
is this the only way? i have very little knowledge of after effects and just got through the 800+ page book on FCP!
aye! would it work if i just didn't use the time remap? (i would still have to shrink it though) this sure is a lengthy task for something that seems should only take a small amount of time!

will turning the field dominance to none fix this problem by any chance? i'm rendering a test now but figured i would ask and see if this render is pointless (like all the rest of them : )
- lvl_130
just rendered, and hell yeah that worked! is there any reason i can't just do this for all my clips? it's only be used on the web so...
tank, you got some info for me? : )

buh,you can do it..its only a bit of a problem when it goes to broadcast.
(well only a problem for the old tv's,lcd and plasma dont have a prob with it)
