they didnt show the site to friends, just my comments on the tackiness of scrolling and bouncing...

I wanted to email them to tell them what a steaming pile of horse manuer their site was, but i can't seem to find a contact link. Nice personal logo by the way, remove it ASAP.

damn, that is shite!
tell him to do the site himself if he just wants you to copy shit.
otherwise, listen to kyl3.
- eficks0
it's a her, and yes i've tried, and today, I'm telling them to get stuffed. Not finishing it any more.

Finish the job. Cash the check. Dont contact them ever again, pretend they dont excist.
If they are not the kind who listen to reason it is not worth your time.
- whitenoise0
Dont give them the satisfaction of you getting upset. Keeping cool makes them feel small and stupid, much better tactic...
Tell them that you do not think this is a partnership worth pursuing, and that you are happy to deliver all original files and would like to terminate this project.

oooooohhhh, bouncy!
ooohhh, shiny.
- enjine0
yeah, def finish the work.
otherwise you look bad...sux, but grin and bear it then never contact them again.

just 2mins ago my client called me to say, " Please put a glow or outline or something around all the type as I can't read any of it... oh and I know you hate this but marketing have asked if you can make the logo bigger"

Doesn't sound too horrible.
If they are paying, then finish the job and suck it up. You never know where business will come from.
I'd show him a version without that moving title stuff and explain how it's easier to read. Or possibly make one with some other, less annoying moving text.
Most importantly, don't act pissed off. Last thing you want is them pulling it all together and going to another firm and saying 'yeah, this last guy was unprofessional and a pain in the ass'.
Never burn a bridge that pays.

nothing so bad as a client that emails the site to friends for review.
OMFG, i had one of this kind..
finish the job, take the money and run..
then puke in the toilet, take an ice-cold shower, say a prayer for every design-sin you made in that site and make contact with Lucifer to demand a place in Worst Clients Hell for this client of yours.
Let karma do the rest.

So is everything supposed to be moving or are you going to be able to read something?
- level20
what the hell is up with the subheadlines animating back and forth?! Makes me wanna punch my monitor!
- eficks0
here is a golden quote from one email.
"Are you trying to be creative with the pages I have attached? Please don't!"
"I have sent
you the layout EXACTLY as I want it to appear on site - Please take notice
of what I have done."
- eficks0
i told her that stuff was tacky, she got upset and forwarded the email to her friends and asked them their opinions, and called me Mr Professional in a sarcastic tone. All of these people I dont even know. It's kinda funny though.
- Moenen0
Oh it is really YOUR client? That sucks quite bigtime yes :D
Haha.
Maybe everybody should post here, honest, what they think about that website, and then you pass this forum to your client.I think it's quite very ugly, and above all it's the most irritating site ever build. Eat this, client.
anyone?
- level20
that's such a bad idea that's it's funny. Sorry man, :)
- eficks0
what is a bad idea?
- level20
Having the subheadings animate like that is very visually distracting. The client probably wanted to draw attention to those because they are important - but it has a counteractive result.
They hired you to make their site, meaning they cant make it themselves. Too bad they aren't intelligent enough to let you do your job..
