too many jobs

... at once.
i've got a steady stream, that so far, i'm juggling around, but ... i dont know if it can keep up. i'm not sure what to do. don't want to say "no" to anyone (well, only one). i've been making work schedules, but they seem to always be changed and then new projects come along.
i know i shouldn't be complaining about this, and in fact i'm not. i would just like to know what any of you do when too many jobs hapeen at once. any sugestions?

You can always refer people to friends;)

Either outsource the entire thing (maybe to a friend) or design it and have someone do the grunt work.
The minute you say 'no' or 'you gotta wait' is the minute that potential client turns their back on you. If you turn someone away, they'll never come back, nor will they refer people to you.
Never say no, just charge enough that you can make money to manage the project and pay someone else to to do the work.

I am in exactly the same boat.
It seems that work is coming out of the walls. Someone described it as "opportunity managament".
I think what you need to do is build a network of freelancers that you trust and pass teh work out to them.
It takes time to build a team but I have done so and four of us all work well together and pass work between ourselves.
You gotta get to the stage where you work as a team but there is a good understanding that its YOUR client and YOU are in control.

don't promise really quick turn arounds if you don't have to. i know it's nice to wow them with how quickly they can get their stuff, but don't stress yourself out just to do so.

When you're done making all the loot, treat yourself to a nice gift during the interim.

if you don't want to grow, don't want to turn into a manager instead of a creator, you can end up turning down work as a result.

same boat that i've been in for a bit here now.. stressssss
i think it can work though, as long as the turnaround date is realistic on the client end. that seems to be the only saving grace at the moment. patient clients.
