it is stupid to say people evacuated for nothing, there was no sign of the hurricane moving eastwards, it is only luck.
however there are other towns in that area that got the whole deal.

Did anyone mention the fact that there are a large number of gators/crocs and nasty water snakes that are going to be bumped out of their nests and swimming around in that water?

You know, that's a good thought. Also up there with the news advisory that local stations were just giving residents who decided to stay put - "Bring axes with you if you go up to your attic"..you know so you can hack out if the water rises...
