what REALLY winds me up is when my dad tells me stories of the led zep shows he went to and how amazing they were live
and the who, the beatles, the clash, the stones, hendrix.....
bastard

The actual artist they stole from.
- devaur0
jealous of JEVAD's father.
That would piss me off. HAHA
Your dad is a lucky man.
- devaur0
chrome-
face the facts they did not steal. they were inspired.
if you want I can spend a few days finding all the artists you have ripped off with your work.
- devaur0

Face the facts.
If you call ripping a song off word for word inspired then fine. i call it stealing.
example.
One of many favorites among zep fans.

My dad's band used to open for Aerosmith before they got really big.
His band was just about to sign a big record deal and their lead singer died in a car accident.
Sometimes I wonder what my life would have been like if they had been signed.
Oh, in case you're wondering I'm very happy with the life I have, but out of curiosity I just wondered what it would have been like.

there are haters everywhere

i say in this particular instance, who cares if you enjoy the music?
I like the blues, and zep's tunes are awesome too.No sense in getting uptight about it. I don't hate Zap for their re-imagination (or whatever the word of the day for it is) of the songs.
Page and Plant both were huge fans of the blues and would hang out in bars listening to and meeting musicians all the time.
Zep were friends with a lot of the Jazz and Blues legends... it's no surprise that hundreds of artists were influenced by them. it's hard to get away from (what was at the time) such a beautiful departure from the mainstream musical culture.

"When The Levee Breaks"
If it keeps on rainin', levee's goin' to break, [X2]
When The Levee Breaks I'll have no place to stay.Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan, [X2]
Got what it takes to make a mountain man leave his home,
Oh, well, oh, well, oh, well.Don't it make you feel bad
When you're tryin' to find your way home,
You don't know which way to go?
If you're goin' down South
They go no work to do,
If you don't know about Chicago.Cryin' won't help you, prayin' won't do you no good,
Now, cryin' won't help you, prayin' won't do you no good,
When the levee breaks, mama, you got to move. All last night sat on the levee and moaned, [X2]
Thinkin' about me baby and my happy home.
Going, going to Chicago... Going to Chicago... Sorry but I can't take you...
Going down... going down now... going down....
