Does anyone collect anything here? I've always thought collecting's a bit of an sad, slightly anal designer-type thing to do, and always avoided it and collectors.
Until I discovered eBay, and a whole market of old BOAC (an old airline)-branded souvenirs and knick-knacks.
Now I feel like I'm becoming some charvah-granny, with a house full of porcelain dogs and beanie-babies...
...anyone else got any-such fetish for old shit? (I'm looking for validation here, people)

I have a friend who collects old 50's-70's vegas memoribilia.
It all depends on what you collect. His collection is just amazing.

i collect some stuff, but i don't usually buy it off ebay. it's too easy and takes the fun out of collecting for me.

My collections change.
Last year I collected every receipt from February to November, which started out as paranoia and then into a real study of my expenditure (I spent nearly £3000 in that time) which ended up shocking me.
Also I collect envelopes and "nice things"

I'd never include music or books in 'collecting' - they just get consumed as a matter of course..!
I think I'm just smitten with the logo and the derelict romance of the 60s airline age - when everything verged on the ideal of some engineered ideal, but remained rooted in things like ashtrays, fag* lighters and porcelain water jugs.
Christ, I'm getting so sad in my old age...
(aka 'cigarette')
