  i read some article recently that said that the class divide in britain is the strongest it's been in a long time, that if you're born into the lower end of the class spectrum, it's harder than ever to move up

  basically britain is going backwards in that sense whilst socio-economic mobility in the rest of europe is improving

  I don't think we can say this 'phenomenon' is specific to any demographic of the UK anymore.

  Like with the Abigail Witchall case - it can happen anywhere. The biggest danger of all is to think, Oh it only happens to Northern/Southern scum with Burberry and chav names.

  What else can we try? it seemes all the liberal approaches haven't solved anything - maybe more draconian measures should be introduced?
