  i seriously believe measures should be taken to prevent massive reproduction in any layer of society.

  if you can not raise one child properly and wisely you are surely not a good parent for 3 or 4 or even more..

  it never occurred to me to suggest that it would. people have always been too cavalier about taking and giving life and i don't reckon that's going to change anytime soon. i think it's terrible that twelve-year-old girls are having babies. i don't care where they live or what their bloody income bracket is. the fact is that pre-teen pregnancy puts these children at an even greater disadvantage. it's a vicious cycle, and i'm not sure how the benefits are helping.

  i didn't say they were doing it for the benefits, i said i'm not sure how the benefits are helping. although in the states it's common that young single mothers admit to have intentionally gotten pregnant for the welfare money. in cuba people infect themselves with hiv to get their hands on three square meals a day. people do fucked up shit. but i think that the issue here is more to do with what seems to me to be almost a glamourisation of procreation when there should in fact be deterrents.
