I admit I'm guilty of not reading the fine print. I'm not saying Apple did something illegal, but it's lame and somewhat misleading.
They upgrade the iPod line every six months or so. When I bought the 60 GB model 6 months ago for my girlfriend for $600, it came with many more accessories than mine this week.
I assumed that since they didn't increase the capacity with the new line, that they just lowered the price. I didn't assume they were only cutting out accessories.
I mean the black case would have at least been nice!

why don't you check what the box includes before you buy it...?

Hey Carty-
I had those in-ear headphones too. And one side of mine stoped working, but I swabbed it with a little alchohol on a Q-tip, and it worked perfectly again after it dried. Try it.

there's an alternative firewire cable you ave to buy for $20
- instantok0
how are you plugging into your power adapter if you don't have a firewire cable?

How is Apple doing anything about being overpriced if they're only lowering prices by including less?

I have a dock and used it about 4 times- pointless if you ask me- to each their own.

ipod is so passe

meant would have got. just gets old reading threads about this. everone bitches about apples pricing so apple does something about it, then they bitch about what has been done, just can't seem to please everyone.
- auricom0
well if everyone would quit bitching about the price of them, then maybe things would stay the same and you wouldn't have got those goodies. (that you really don't need)
plus like what jevad said, read the info.

someone buy me an ipod....
- jevad0
sorry - all are problems that could have been solved simply by reading what was included and what was not...

my 20 gig 3rd gen came with remote, dock, and firewire...
usb 2.0 i bought separately for $20.
bought in ear headphones... they were great till one side stopped working.
apple headphones that came with included remote which the wire pulled so the internals are exposed, as did the ipod headphones.
i use the pod with sony MDR-150'S... full sized.
as for the no dock/remote with 4th gen, its pretty well known that apple did this to move more units. not everyone uses the dock.. although i use it daily, there is always fine print.
i'd expect a new ipod photo version in jan.. with raw capabilites and a dock...

I'll sell you my 60gig for $350 with all the parts.

i doubt that one will ever take off
- scarabin0
and nobody is, that's my point.

No, The packaging is about three inches thinner since they lowered the price.
iPod photo is not a joke if you have 60 GB of music on it. I'm not interested in keeping my photography on it.

ipod photo is such a joke

dude i just bought an ipod and it came with both usb2 and firewire cables...are you not looking under some of the packaging or did they seriously not come with both of those cables?
