never use a wifi isp. always pay for a telco line or cable. all my pro. experiences with wifi isp's have sucked.
service is generally unstable.
the technology is rough at best...and while you may have decent service for a while something will break and you'll experience exactly what you just went through.
dsl, t1 or cable are your best choices for professional service.
i work at home as well as my office and have both a cable and sdsl pipe coming into my home, built a linux router to produce fail-over access. of course, i run rsync backup servers for my office's off-site nightly backups...but, nothing beats true 24/7 uptime.
when both lines are up, i get double the speed via load balancing on the router...and if either pipe experiences downtime then i still have access...only area power failure knocks me off.
best way to work. :)
