why do you care? this isn't a dating site. do you simply wish to take another jab at me once you are able to pinpoint me on a map from some other stereotypical point of view?

But version3, you are probably a terrorist - so they need to know your address. Thats how they keep us all safe.

can't u allow version to be just a little concerned? huh?

no, actually there are quite a few things about the patriot act that disgust me.
there are also a lot of privacy issues that i will openingly disagree with.
but this is trite compared to some of the privacy issues we need to address.
i fail to see the need for someone to hide their information if they own a public domain name. it is wanting to have your cake and eat it too.
you want all the benefits of owning a domain name but want to hide the fact you own it? why? this is exactly what spammers and con-artists do.
- version30
i doubt the whois is the extent of the information that will be affected
i will be listening to the brodcast this evening and will report back what else is discussed
fair enough?
and again its not as much what but how
- Kes0
ah i can live with the spammers, as long as it allows me to continue to run my bordello of teenage boys online.
- Kes0
I would like to see the preservation of the internet as an open and unregulated platform.
- emecks0
aww boo-hooo
as long as .cunt domains don't exist I don't care.
- sparker0
i would love to see the internet exist openingly. i'm the biggist foss/gnu/linux/etc. zealot on nt.
but, hiding all your information doesn't foster an open environment.
i love how hypocritical people, especially activists, are.
it's ok to release countless amounts of otherwise private communique online...yet they want to hide behind anonymous domain registration?
pssshff.
- Kes0
yeah.

cops still need a reason to request proof of ID
- Kes0
no they don't.
- sparker0
no they don't. police can ask you for your id at any time and it is required you present it. if you falsify your identity to them, they can cite you for it.
this is the way it is in missouri. and a number of other states.
- Kes0
still, i'd like the ability to do illegal shit without being tracked. Where's the rights of the career criminal i ask u?
pffft.
- yurimon0
what if you register under corporation?
- version30
no they don't
without probable cause obtaining your license after your refusal is illegal
you have the right to say no
this does not apply to being in a car as you need to show proof that you legal to drive
however the passenger can legally deny the cops request
- sparker0
lol. yea, what was i thinking? sorry, please go about your daily id theft from your obfuscated website. i don't need to know who just stole my credit card number.
anyway...sacrifices must be made for the safety of our unborn clones. what will the genetically modified, chip implanted, bar-coded youth of tomorrow think when they find out people tried to stifle the agenda of the omniscient government.
