rollerbladers are gaycore

It wasn't my intention to turn this into a rollerblade vs. skateboarding thing. And I didn't mean to come off the way I did before. Skateboarding is dope as hell. As is BMX. I'm down with anyone and everyone out there in the streets hucking themselves at shit. No matter what you are riding on its all the same to me. One love.
If you downtalk rollerblading though I'm gonna speak on it. Its moved far beyond skateboarding or bmx simply because the rollerblades are attached to your feet. Now this one of the main reasons people think its so lame. But really they become an extension of your body and give you the ability to maneuver in a way that is otherwise unattainable. Rollerblades give you wings. They allow you to move freely, unlike skateboarding or bmx where you have to concentrate on the object you are riding on.
And I'm not saying that skateboarding or bmx is any less for this reason. They are just different. I am saying that because of this difference rollerblading can be taken to a much high level.
All in my opinion of course.

err.. much highER level. wish i could edit these sometimes haha.
haven't slept all night. 9am now. anyone else with me here?
aight peace.

Its all opinion.. I personally am drawn to the style of motion that sideways stanced sports have. Ive seen guys ride bikes who do it dripping with style but to be honest I dont think Ive ever seen a rollerblader who comes close to making me want to try it. Its just too Brian Boitano for me.

"I'd like to see a skateboard or biker try and pull something like that... they wouldn't even attempt it. Rollerblading has progressed far beyond any other street sport. Open your eyes bro.

(Feb 4 05, 12:28)"check yourself before you go and say you did not intend to start a challenge. I would say that rollerblading has been tapped out while the other sports keep progressing. Jamie thomas stomped that years ago.

Let's just leave it at this:
Skateboarders don't listen to bands like Thursday, Saves The Day, or Dashboard Confessional, or The Used, My Chemical Romance, A Simple Plan, Evanescense, System of a Down, Linkin Park, etc.

BikeMaker, just read your post and all I can ask is if you are crazy or not?
" Its moved far beyond skateboarding or bmx simply because the rollerblades are attached to your feet."
Do you have any idea how many more tricks, and complex tricks on a rail ALONE are available to skateboarders over rollerbladers?
How can you possibly say it's progressed beyond skateboarding when rollerbladers have so fewer options available to them??
Rollerblader:
"Did you see me jump onto that rail and land with two feet and shake my foot and spin off?
Did you see me land WITH JUST ONE FOOT and not spin off? I'm awesome!!!"A skateboard has so many options as to how to land on the rail alone, or even approach it, that a rollerblader does not have.
Seriously man, I hope you were being sarcastic because that response makes no sense at all.
Both sports have progressed, and just because you have some twerps spinning 540s and flips on rollerblades (impressive, I might add) doesn't mean that it at all overshadows people like Tony Hawk, Bob Burnquist, Colin McKay, etc. that are doing far more sophisticated tricks because the board IS NOT attached to their feet.Has any rollerblader attempted a ramp like Colin McKay did on the DC video?
- mg330
I meant Danny Way instead of Colin McKay for the tricks on that huge ramp in the DC video.

I wanna see a fight between a fruitbooter and a "freestyle walker"-
--let the scratching and hair pulling commence

i used to live with two kids that rollerbladed... i still don't see any difference in any tricks they do and don't understand the obsession, but some of the drops, rails and gaps those guys do are fucking insane - but that goes back to having the skates attached to you... if a skateboard was attached, skaters would be going that huge.
- MLP0
btw, the leap of faith's landing is grass now...
jamie thomas was the closest on a skateboard and many fruit booters tried... my friend knows a kid that tried it that broke both of his legs on it.

Has any rollerblader attempted a ramp like Colin McKay did on the DC video?

(Feb 6 05, 10:24)no, there's not enough money in rollerblading to build a ramp that huge
- jevad0
" no, there's not enough money in rollerblading to build a ramp that huge"
my arse - nobody has balls big enough is what it is....
- mg330
no kidding there's not enough money.
And it would be be boring as holy piss just watching some guy fluy through the air spinning or flipping with skates on. If I wanted that I'd just go to the circus.
- Meeklo0
I dont know why are you guys hating on those poor kids, I think is all about pushing your limits, snowboard, skateboard, rollerblades, or whatever you are in to, if you can do a ledge that high, you got my respect.
People here are dissing on those kids, but the truth is, I know jamie t landed the leap of faith, but how about you?
do YOU have the balls to attemp it? even on rollerblades? (its easy right?they are attached to your feet). Before dissing on anyone, think about it, and dont just say "yeah a skateboarder can do that" ask yourself "can I do that?"
if you can't then shut up!and I dont see anything gay on this:
http://www.muchosucko.com/video-…
I think those guys are insane, most closed minded people are so negative about new stuff that keep hating it.
that to me is 10 times more gay than "extreme scootering"

"Gor anyone who didn't make it through my last post, I'd like you to see this:

it'd be cooler if he was on a board.
- ErlKnu0
And that streetclimb video is gay.
