I am buying a new computer (PC) in the next few days... youg uys have any recommendations for video cards / mother boards / monitors... I am getting a wacom tablet, I mostly use photoshop.illy.flash. No video editing... and want to spend about 2000 with the monitor.
Thanks all

just put this one together for my brother:

You could definitely drop the audio card and get a lower quality video card and save $300. Still leaves you almost $1100 for a monitor...

thanks gabe... I like the combo.. I will probably do what you suggested and drop the audio card.
I just want my tablet, and for photoshop to work REAL FAST...

Spend 1000 on the computer, and then get yourself a nice 20" flatscreen for the other half.
I would get an AMD 64 processor. Windows XP 64-bit edition is coming out next year, and Longhorn the year after that, so a 64-bit processor is def. the way to go! A gig or two of RAM. If you play some games, go GeForce 6600GT, if not ATI X300.
ASUS makes nice motherboards. Get one with AMD Socket939 and PCI-express.The AMD 64 "Winchester" is a good buy, as its really cool=no need for extra fans. And to match the motherboard, get a Socket939 processor, not 754!

Oh, and if you get a motherboard with PCI-express, its important you buy a PCIe graphics card too! PCIe is replacing the AGP standard.

I suggest a AMD 64/FX if you can afford it, with the 939 socket. I have one and it rocks like a hurricane!
