ok, this has probably been asked before but many of you know that i can't ever think of the correct keywords for the search to give me anything :)
that being said, is there an easy way, when importing a burned cd (that does not contain the track info) to somehow be able to type in the name of the artist and cd title and have the cddb get the track names for you based on the info you typed? a lot of my old cds end up showing up in the unkown artist folder and just become lost in the shuffle. anyone? your help is greatly appreciated

Buy the real cd's you'll get all the infos
... and a nice booklet with pictures and lyrics :D
Rename all the tracks by hand dude, this is the price to pay for getting illegal MP3's.
Oh, and you get a free backstage pass to Hell when you do that! :D Niiiiiiiice.

not all (real) cds have infos.

c'mon man i'm serious.
almost all (yeah almost...c'mon some cds you just don't really want that bad...unless they are given to you : ) i actually bought. i always make a backup copy right away 'cause they usually get lost or too scratched up to play.
i have done the copy by hand shit, but i would think there is a much easier way...the most annoying thing is that itunes always puts tehm in that damn unknown artist folder.

There are other great scripts here as well to ease your ID3 tagging woes.

Don't you love when someone asks a completely valid question and someone comes back with some obnoxious answer, defending the RIAA?
Jackass.

Yeah, totally. $30 (aust.) for something i can produce in my home for less than 50 cents. Thats stealing quite frankly.

Beech,
i will ask you to read your comment and think about it.If you can't found whats wrong, then forget it.

... sure, i can see where your coming from. I would always rather buy a cd. I dig having the cover art, being a designer and all. However i strongly believe that cds are overpriced in a serious way. And obviously, if they were more reasonably priced i'd buy a lot more.

yeah its true that the price are too high... but they drop a bit since last year because of the mp3.. and they often give dvd with em' now
- benfal990
and those dvds always suck anyways....
- Beech0
hehehe, yeah thats true. they are getting better too. When "multimedia" bonus cd's first came out they were worse. They would never work on my mac and the quality was always so bad!
I think it was a weezer cd where you got like 10 vids of live shows all at like 64 x 96 pixels. you couldn't see a thing!
good cd though

Sometimes the price of things is worth more than physical production costs. It isn't easy to just come along and create an amazing song - it takes time, it costs money to record etc. If you buy indie stuff, it really helps the artists if you pay. If you buy RIAA crap, well, that's a different matter ;-)
