yeah, this thread really isn't helping much.
i dont give a flying fuck about telling them why they need to have a good name, or why a logo is so important.
i'm in the real world and my bills don't stop and wait for my client to say guess what?
dave was right...
i need to get this work done to the best of my ability and fast.
thats reality.
i was just looking for some helpful ideas to get me going in a good direction...
some good posts that were helpful, specially magicpatch.
thanks....

sorry, it's hard for me to give good, real world advice because i live in a magical fantasy world. in this real world case, i guess standard swoosh with the requisite globe and pshop lensflare would suffice. type obviously in itallics.
i'm kidding of course. wordy names such as yours benefit from a simple mark and one clean typeface to keep it from looking jumbled. if they're mainly renting dvd's i'd look at exploring positive and negative interaction within the dvd form to express the physical exchange of the disc from store to end user, perhaps some arrow forms. you can play up the genericness of the name with an equally über-generic mark, making it look super corporate and simple. are you working on the site as well?

johndiggity,
thanks for the response...
simple mark? i tried some old camera thing inside a red circle....i'm not happy with it....tried making the E into part of a ticket...not happy either.....tried the Ex into an arrow...yuk
i'm seriously at a loss and i'm not sleeping till i get 1 good mockup done!
ideas?

i'm talking super simple, like a yin-yang stle dvd with a good type, or a dvd moving around with the outlines drawn out. hard for me to describe in words... just sketch out a bunch of shit and see what comes of it. there are no bad ideas when brainstroming.

i got an idea from what you were talking about.....
some dvd thingie with arrows going on the inside....
they're simple but its hard to make something simple look good sometimes....
