Suppose you have a planar texture map on a blinn surface and you want to use the same thing in the same place for bump. How do you do that so it matches up? I tried manually repeating everything with a screen shot of my numbers for translation and rotation. It didn't even work, but I assume that Maya is a good enough program that there is a quick way to do that without starting from scratch.
Any help?

I will answer my own question. I found an solution on http://www.highend3d.com
You drag the planar texture node in the hypergraph work space with the middle mouse button onto the blinn node. It creates a bump3D node that you can adjust in the attributes. panel.

Did you try the community section of the Alias website? (I'm wondering how they compare...)

I went to Alias first and didn't find anything. I don't have much experience with their community though.
