Director/lingo scripting help

  I'm really stuck with some stupendously basic lingo. Have been through the help menu and can't find anything (I haven't done it for at least a year and a half)... so was wondering if anyone can offer any help?

  ok, please don't laugh... here it isI want the sprite to have some sort of scripting to make it wait on the frame, then I want another sprite/button to make the timeline thingy go to the next marker

  and so on

  (It was originally far more complex than this, but I can't find my notes, so I think this is the best I can manage)
