it wasnt bad.......it kinda reminded me of braveheart but not as good and set in ancient japan....
it was actually a pretty good movie, i was surprised.
anyone else see it?

I think it is blasphemous to have Tom Cruise play in a samurai movie.
- Mimio0
It's not worth seeing. I wish I hadn't.
- gregor0020
heard it should've been called Dances With Braveheart because of it's similarities to Dances With Wolves and Braveheart. And Tom Cruise is a dink.

Best movie I've seen in years really. Detailed, brutally honest story, great acting, all around good movie, imho.

prediction:
some folks really liked this movie because it was really good and entertaining. other folks hate this movie because it sucked ass and blah blah blah blah.
then everyone will start bickering and saying that "your taste in movies sucks because you liked the matrix!" and then someone else will say "yawn." and then i will be forced to post links like this one:
and:
preeeeeetttttttyyyyyyyy colors.
- toful0
you know those colors are artificial. They add them in later to amuze the layman.

oh yeah, saw the movie last night - it was good. The girl I went with was balling off and on. Made me wanna be a samurai. best part was the ninjas.
- Mimio0
I broke out laughing a few times. Cruise waxes philosophic and leads the other Samurai into battle with his hair flowing in the wind, I just don't see how the audience is supposed to endure such corn. On another note it's also chock full'o historical and cultural inaccuracies. Some they could have avoided from watching some of great Samurai movies already in existence.
- mrdobolina0
I wish Musashi would come back to life for five minutes and chop off Tom Cruise's arms.

Porportionately, about how many ninjas are there and does that warrant me seeing it?
- Mimio0
There's a hollywood handful of ninjas. In fact they seem to just keep coming out of this gigantic ninja dispenser in the sky.

i usually trust these guys...

ninjas are like warm, pleasantly smelling putty that will cover up any holes a movie might have. As much as I dislike Hollywood, the mere mention of ninjas makes me want to spend money.
Ninjas and/or miniguns are pretty much a prerequisite for any movie to be decent. In fact, a minigun ninja battle has been long overdue.

it's probably good, but T. Cruise, forget that. Why not have K. Reeves if that's the case :)
- mrdobolina0
any movie with "A-list" celebrities in it sucks.
- Mimio0
I agree, when "A-List" celebs spout out serious dialogue, it takes me out of the movie. Especially when there is a priority to give every scene to the celebrity and not the supporting actors. It becomes even more artificial.
- mrdobolina0
exactly Mimio, I recommend anyone that liked this movie watch some real samurai movies.
