i was wondering what program i should use for create 3d objects mainly for flash...although i used to be a mac person i will work on a pc...the first software that came up in my mind was swift3d which is ok for very simple animations but ...what do you suggest me to go for?

I know a little Swift 3D. It does a great job but its interface is awful and you can't do much modelling in there. You can import dxf files but since you need another program for that, I would look into Maya. It's a very high end program, but you can also export vector swf files from it.

thank you!
i heard of it and i thought it was too high end for what i need...it's important for me the swf part of it and the drawing tools and coordinates that i dont have in swift3d...thnx very much!

Personally, I like blender. It's free, it's small, and it does a lot. Once you learn the interface, you'll love it.

Discreet's Plasma is pretty good.

You are CRAZY if you think Maya is an 'easy' solution. Not cheap, either, unless you are using a cracked version.
Look through http://www.computerarts.com and http://www.3dworld.com for reviews of cheap and easy software.
Off the top of my head:
Cinema 4D XL - it can be purchased as modules, pretty cheap, growing, and I am assuming you can upgrade to more advance parts (like particles) later on
I believe the latest one of those mags has a version of Ciname free and the limitations are only the size of the final image.
Forget Maya, that's like taking an F1 car to a go cart track. Yeah, it'd be cool, but it would be such an overkill you'd get nowhere.

I use Bryce 5 from Corel of Montreal and it's pretty good, not only can you produce 3D images that rival the best of the best programs, you can make them into animated movies as well and export either as .mov or .avi and the upgrade has Flash Support as well or you couold just use Sorenson Squeeze to reduce the size of the movie and import into Flash as well. :) http://www.corel.com/servlet/Sat…

thank you for your advices...infact what i'm looking for is something that allows me to play around quickly with simple shapes and i'm not even really interested in the rendering part but mostly in the animation...swift3d was ok for that but it really pisses me off its lacks in positioning the cameras into the stage...
howevewr thanks again...i think i'll start trying cinema first and then bryce...i'll let you know...
ciao!

I am telling you Bryce 5 is your answer, it's so simple it's not even funny.

Bryce is a good one for the cash. Vue d'esprit is another. Both are ideal for landscapes, althought the rendering capabilities are a little less than stellar (although it's mostly the artist, as I've seen some really spectacular images from Bryce).
I'd look into Plasma, if web is your priority. It's got power, and is perfect for Flash stuff. Then if you want to more onto Max, you'll already be familiar with the workflow).
