Bryce is a good one for the cash. Vue d'esprit is another. Both are ideal for landscapes, althought the rendering capabilities are a little less than stellar (although it's mostly the artist, as I've seen some really spectacular images from Bryce).
I'd look into Plasma, if web is your priority. It's got power, and is perfect for Flash stuff. Then if you want to more onto Max, you'll already be familiar with the workflow).
