this is the script in document http://www.vahk.nl/forum/aspBoarā¦ and i really want to know what URL i have to fill in to change the content / delete messages in the messageboard.
anyone?
If Request.QueryString("delId")"" And Request.QueryString("pwd") = abAdminPwd Then
strSql = "DELETE * FROM msgDetail WHERE msgId = " & Request.QueryString("delId")
Call adoConn.Execute(strSql)
Response.Redirect "aspBoard.asp"
End IfstrSql="SELECT * FROM msgDetail WHERE msgId = " & Request.QueryString("Id")
Set adoRs=Server.CreateObject("ADODB...
adoRS.Open strSql, adoConn, 1If adoRs.EOF Then
Response.Redirect "aspBoard.asp"
End If
%>

or is it only possible to change the content by using MS Access...
- mitsu0
um... could you rephrase your question.. i have no idea what you are asking
- stewart0
true mitsu - it is not easy at all.
and i'm affraid i can't explain my asp-problemo more specific.
- mitsu0
what are you having trouble doing?
deleting a record? redirecting to a specific page?
- ave0
aspBoardDetail.asp?delId=1&msgId...
Don't have a clue what your variables would need to be though.
Is this what your asking?
- stewart0
it's about deleting a user input.
in the script i can read this:
--------
'Uncomment these lines if you want to add the ability to
'delete messages. Make sure you set a value for abAdminPwd (see aspBoardData.asp):If Request.QueryString("delId")"" And Request.QueryString("pwd") = abAdminPwd Then
strSql = "DELETE * FROM msgDetail WHERE msgId = " & Request.QueryString("delId")
Call adoConn.Execute(strSql)
Response.Redirect "aspBoard.asp"
End If
--------i uncommend the lines, i know the value for abAdminPwd... but i don't know how to reach the part of the site where you can delete the messages.
- mitsu0
so you just create your own asp page and send and use a form action similar to this:
aspBoardDetail.asp?delId=1&pwd=1...
(setting the correct properties in before the form submit)
- stewart0
that's it ave, exactly.
but it still doesn't work.i think that this asp stuff is still a bit too complex for me.
and it is such an easy messageboard...

Don't get scared of Stew. You just need to know what variable values are required. Keep at it! That's the only way to learn, once you do, you'll have blast with it.
I'm no ASP guru, but I'll help where I can. Keep posting if you have questions. :)
