friday night i took girl 2 to an indian pow wow, where we listened to drums under the stars and ate native food (indian tacos and frybread!). romantic stuff.i came back on saturday with girl 1; we listened to some cracker-ass indians weeping for "their" people during the storytelling bit, saw some more authentic dancing. had lunch in a real teepee!
over those two days i got:
• a couple of beaded headbands and bracelets
• a turtle-shell pouch, a bone choker
• a chest piece made of buffalo bone and glass trade beads, deer hide and hoof, horse mane, buffalo hair, and muskrat skull. it was made by a native american woman and her grandmother
• stuff for the girls (a flask, jewelry, bags, etc)while grocery shopping i discovered trader joe's carries balvenie doublewood 12 year scotch which i knew was highly recommended by the folks here, so i picked up a bottle.
sunday girl 1 and i rode our bicycles to baskin-robbins and shared a banana split.
later i signed up at sugarDVD.com and told her she could be in charge of the rental queue. she spent the next couple hours excitedly adding over a hundred movies ("ooh! they have carolina jones and the temple of poon!") while i smoked blunts, drank whiskey and listened to cheesy records (i extended this weekend's western theme by playing "home on the range")
- no offense,

oh, and i started doing a "cheese of the month" thing. i'm buying a new cheese i haven't tried every few weeks and teaching the girl how to appreciate flavor notes and textures by having her keep a "cheese journal". she's loving it and i get to try new stuff.
this month is MORBIER, which hails from a town in france with the same name. it's leathery, smells like feet, has a vein of ash running through it and is delicious.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mor…- I've been trying new cheeses as well, yum!Lifeinvector

I went to a white trash wedding in the middle of fucking nowhere, spent the night drunk driving a Mule around the woods. Then my dog broke his leg and he now needs pins put in which completely cleared out my savings and then some.

having thunder fall on your building kinda sucks, it blew all the electronic appliances that were turned on (in the entire building) luckily only my modem, router and network card went up in smokes, my computer just did a reboot and laptop didn't seem to care,
Still scared the living crap outta me and the lady, spent entire saturday wondering why my new wireless modem was going at an incredible speed of 46kb while I'm supposed to get 10mb,
anyways, after calling my friendly neighborhood computer store they told me to contact my computer provider and bitch, which I happily did, I'm now running internet even faster than I ever did, apparently someone over there forgot to press enter...

I was pretty damn grown up this weekend. I did the following:
1 - Went home after 3 pints on Friday night as I saw the other guys spiralling into a big one and I had loads to do on saturday.
2 - Re-potted some tomato plants I've been growing from seed. Hopefully they'll be beef tomoatos aplenty in 2-3 months time.
3 - decorated the hall of our flat (living room next weekend)
4 - went to a DIY shop to get some white spirit to clean my brushes
5 - Afternoon snooze on Sunday
6 - Watched The Breakfast club with my girlfriend - she'd never seen it start to finish before.Once the decorating is out of the way I can get back to acting less than my age.

Friday: Drove to Cougar, Washington to get a permit to climb Mt. St Helens and stumbled into a bar that was serving free Coors Light until the kegs were gone. 5 buddy's and I hung with the locals doing our part to help. Then hiked 3 hours with a 60lb backpack and snowboard on my back to set up base camp. Had to set up my tent in the dark in a snow field and then proceeded to drink cheap whiskey and watch shooting stars with friends.
Saturday: Woke up at the base of Mt. St. Helens and watched the sun rise over Mt. Adams with Mt Hood to the South. Strapped my board to my back and snow shoes on my feet and hiked another 3 hours straight up. After 3 hours and realizing how exhausted I was I retreated and rode my board back down to our base camp. Only 1 of our group summited but I still had the time and ride of my life time.
