I don't think you need to worry, man. But I have a good advice for you: uncheck the option that lets iTunes reorganize your library. I forgot to do that and now all my hip hop albums (where every song features different guest stars) are divided into a hundred thousand folders* and who knows, maybe that's what messed your computer up. And also, my iPod has been acting up some times when I didn't disconnect it properly.
And for the record, I've been using windows for 12 years and I have never, ever seen the blue screen of death (on any of my computers).
