awrench: in illy i just made a few cirlces and lines with a 10pt stroke.
mr_snuggles: the "s" is what has been giving me the most problems. i had a few others comps that weren't even as successfull as the ones i posted. i added the point on the "n" to TRY to compilment the 45 degree angle of the "e"... mayble i'll remove it.
I was going with a modern feel because this network is totally online based. They wanted to show that they were more forward thinking and try and shake the commonly perceived "conservative higher education model". I will definitely look into some of the arts/science logos from the 50's and 60's though... could compliment it nicely as sort of "bridging the gap" between the old ways and new technology.
