I just ordered a Dual 2.5Ghz G5...switching from a PC that I built myself. I currently have to reformat my PC about once every 8 months or so due to build up, the PC just starts slowing down over time.
I have a PB that I both love and hate, its about time to take it back to the Apple store because my contrast buttons won't work...so dunno, I think they both have their problems. My main reason to switch is that I'm trying to work freelance with ad agencies and other design houses so transferring files is much easier (no font issues).
I'll let you know how I find the speed of the G5 in a few weeks after getting to test it out. The one thing I've noticed about the Mac vs PC is that when I give my PC way too much to do it will hang up or crash programs...the PB I have will keep chugging...it might go slow but eventually it gets the job done.
I would recommend switching if you have the cash, but don't expect the Mac to be error free like some of these fanatics spread like gospel. My PB has been a mountain of problems...I'm only hoping that soon they will just replace the thing.
