    I put my objective in there just because it's necessary. If you're at an agency and they've got a ton of CV's they send out, shouldn't yours tell the person on the other side that you're only interested in Freelance positions?

    That's what it's for IMO. Other than that, your objective should probably be in your cover letter.

    I usually format my CVs like this..

    Name/Rank/Serial #
    Objective
    Skills (software, code, system)
    Employment
    Notable Endeavors
    Education

    A CV above all else should be PLAIN and LEGIBLE. You would be amazed at how many people go for the //...EDU_CATION..\\ style formatting. Or add in background images, or just fuck around with it till it looks like road kill. Make sure everything is spelled correctly and no widows! It's not a style contest. that's your portfolio.
