    using winamp type visualisations is kinda lazy - at least on its own. I been recently getting into the VJ gig. In my opinion:

    Resolume
    Motion Dive Tokyo
    ArKaos

    Personally i wouldn't use ArKaos, cos it has lotta cheap and cheesy effects. Many people consider Motion Dive Tokyo a bit of a toy, but i think it's AMAZING in creating on-the-fly visual effects (abstract colours shapes and shit). Resolume's really cool tho, cos with that u create funky-ass clips using After Effects or whatever, then go ape-shit on Resolume with em live. Ideally, if u're going the software VJ route, u'd want a 2 laptop set up with Motion Dive on one and Resolume on another.
