    It looks like some tie-in with the Vacant thing. I don't think that big companies like nike or adidas are by anymeans going to tap the heart of the skate shoe market. If they luck out and have a shoe that gets adopted by skaters, it will probably have nothing to do with the advertising.

    I contend that the Converse "Larry Bird" Weapon was the greatest damn skate shoe ever made sometimes.

    I got really interested in this idea last year, so i walked around the streets and looked at the shoes that real skaters were wearing. I noticed several things. First, no bright colors. When i skated, this made sense. Bright colors show how much damage you are doing to your shoes. Black, grey, and other colors hide the fact you are riping your shoes up. Also, they are no bullshit colors. If nike or adidas wants to crack the market, i think that they should make almost an anti shoe for their market. Hit up skate shops and give insane deals for old inventory. Skaters go through shoes like crazy. Give them great shoes for 29 bucks and build up a cult following.
