Hmm. I don't think i have seen human-looking robot hand gestures like these before. On some levels more impressive than the Boston Dynamics parkour robots.

    • I understand the appeal. Like you said, "on some levels" it seems more impressive. I'm all for replicating arthropod mechanics which are much more impressive.palimpsest
    • Walks away like it shit its pants, tho.jagara
    • When are I Robot-like robots a mass market thing? 50 years? Less? Not happening?jagara
    • I don't think it will be happening. It's fun in the movies but we'll soon catch up to reality. I have faith in humanitypalimpsest
    • The sooner we realize we are not the pinnacle of evolution and that evolution never stops the better off we'll be.palimpsest
    • Arthropods have been it at our longer and have have more efficient mechanics than we do.
      Arthropods FTW.

    • So what do you suggest? Insect-like robots? Or are you just changing the subject to something entirely different?jagara
    • If you are building robots to do generalized human tasks, giving them human form makes immediate sense, IMO. Not a robotics expert.jagara
    • I'm not trying to change the subject, I think we can interact with "machines" in a human manner without them even having a body: ChatGPT.palimpsest
    • I think the humanoid robot is a old idea and that there are more efficient solutions. I'm not a robotics expert either. I just have a big mouf.palimpsest
    • I need it to wear my skinny leg jeans after I wash them, and stretch them out a bit so they are comfortable again..slappy
