There was a great interview / BBC radio program called Desert Island Discs with the actor Samantha Morton, and she was talking about going raving when she was younger. The host started towards a 'wayward youth' angle, and Samantha stopped her to say that going out and taking drugs, meeting people, getting lost in music was a big part of her healing from her difficult childhood.

Quite profound, because for everyone who's got a negative drugs story, there are an equal amount of positive, confidence, life changing experiences people have had that are on the surface, unremarkable, but really do change the course of peoples lives and development for the better.

Being on the dancefloor at Cream in the late 90s as a 16 year old, experiencing the energy of a room like that (and being chemically 'refreshed' of course) completely changed the direction of who I am, and it wouldn't have been the same without drugs.

    So i'm all for it.
