Picky eaters. I went to a restaurant dinner with work once. There was this one colleague in her mid-twenties:

Lobster bisque: "I don't like seafood" with white wine: "I don't drink wine". Meat dish: "mmm, no... looks weird" with a red wine pairing: "I don't like wine, remember?". Buttermilk dessert with passion fruit compote: "It tastes and looks weird, how can you eat that". Cheeses and wine: "cheese, ew!". Coffee: "I don't like coffee" (well, quelle motherfucking surprise...).

What she had: a bit of bread and butter, tiny bites of all the dishes, none of which she liked, and a Coke Zero.

She wasn't anorexic, a bit chubby, actually. I seem to remember that she liked pizza. Maybe she only eats pizza.

    • Oh, and spaghetti. She likes spaghetti.jagara
    • That's why she's chubbyNBQ00

    • being a picky eater is a sign that they're a pain in the ass.GuyFawkes
    • Punches for: her parents.jagara
    • SMH. She survives on carbs and chicken nuggies alone. I imagine every mean comes from a drive through. Thoughts and prayers for her heart.shellie
    • Meh, sometimes parents can try as much as they can and their kids will still end up picky little shits.Nairn
    • ARFID? Orthorexia? so many diseases to pick from!zarkonite
    • True @Nairn. Most parents are doing their best.mort_
    • In my 50! yeas on this planet, I have figured out the things I don't like. They are pretty basic, like coffee, Italian food, tea, liquor, pork and most red meatArmandoEstrada
    • ... I will try new things without hesitation, but im pretty firm in my dislikes. Not everyone likes everything. But yeah, punches for...ArmandoEstrada
    • My kids 3 & 4. Love stuff like olives, anchovies, allsorts of veg including celery, asparagus. They'll eat hot stuff like wasabi covered peas ...microkorg
    • ...curry and can put up with some pretty spicy chinese. I think if theres varied food around then they will eat it and have a wide palette. If theres not variedmicrokorg
    • food around when growing up then you're going to end up with fussy kids stuck in a rut of bland pizza, pasta and fish fingers.microkorg
    • @microkorg My kids were like that at that age and their taste narrowed significantly as they got older. YMMV.mort_
    • What annoys me the most is the close-mindedness. Try new stuff, you'll have a richer life.jagara
    • 'Italian Food'?! That's a fairly large brushstroke over a mostly inoffensive food umbrella!Nairn
    • @Nairn haha yeah :Djagara
