They've made a few changes in photoshop. Better UX but annoying getting used to it. Now when you resize a shape, instead of having to phold shift to keep it in proportion, it keeps it in proportion automatically and holding shift does the opposite.

Also, now instead of having to hold shift when hitting cmd > z if you want to go back more than one step, it does it automatically and holding shift does the complete opposite.

Unfathomable to me that these incredibly obvious UX choices have only been implemented now in 2019. Also rather amusing that literally the opposite of how it was before is the far better experience.

Getting this in to my subconscious is going to take a while, and it makes it even trickier that it hasn't been updated in illustrator to match.

    • that new PS resizing is such a mind-bender.
why change such a tiny but fundamental thing?

    • Well it makes far more sense this way round, just annoying to all of a sudden have to reprogram my reflexesset
    • yup ... I had been so used to toggling back and forth with cmd-z that the new change with multiple undos is throwing me off.monospaced
    • adapting to the new scaling isn't so hard though, and I've gotten used to it ... it's the fucking CROP tool that I still can't work out.monospaced
    • What bothers me is that when you scale path you still have to use shift.dpi

    • Not needing to hold shift is the dumbest Adobe change in a long time. That fundamental behaviour is different in the other apps. NightmareGucci
    • The good thing is that you can change it backGucci
    • 99% of the time I scale stuff, I want it to keep proportion. I remember when they changed the crop tool and I hated it, now I love it.mekk
    • What I'm saying is try it before you hate itmekk
    • This scaling thing is driving me up the fucking wall. Years, and years, and years of muscle memory to overcome.Continuity

    • One thing is that they didn't onboard the change well, at all. Or I never saw it due to having help or popups toggled off. It'd still suck, but warnings help.evilpeacock
    • i am tripping all over the scaling, fumbling around... getting nerd triggeredprophetone
    • I switched it back - the muscle memory was too strong.bulletfactory
    • scaling remained the same in illustrator though..fues
    • How do you change it back so i dont have to piss about with SHIFT?nylon
