    Anybody saying about the USA or the Republican party after the latest authoritarian outrage, "this isn't who we are."

    Yes, it is exactly who we are. Member of minority groups and Native Americans knew this before, and now all the whites who never had to face this are realizing where they live. Except for people who escaped Nazi Germany ahead of the war. They know.
