when i first started I bought mass amounts of gear, lights, cranes, shotgun mics, cameras for different scenarios, etc, so much bullshit,
what I've learned over the years is (for myself anyway) lighter is better, if you want to shoot daily, its going to be very overwhelming and less motivating if you have to haul a bunch of shit around every fucking time.
as i started to lighten up my load I gradually shot a lot more.
