    On Thursday my 1st grade son will face off in the school final Scripps Spelling Bee against the 4th and 5th grade.

    I have no doubt he has as much chance to win as any other kid there.

    • I was in a spelling bee in 6th grade and got eliminated on the word "iron ore". I knew how to spell it but panicked and spelled oar. I could've been someone!stoplying
