  In the last couple of days my 5Ghz Gateway Verizon FIOS router all of sudden started to download files a lot slower than it did just a few days ago. My download speed went from 120 Mbps, to under 10 Mbps. The Upload speed is performing great at 120 Mbps, no changes were observed to the upload speed. And all of my mobile devices linked to the 5G router work perfectly fine.

  But when I switch my settings from 5Ghz to the 2.4Ghz band on my computer, my download speed goes back up to the normal 120 Mbps.

  What gives....anybody?

  • maybe a cap on the network setting? i've had similar. although it seems pretty inconsistent as far as each time i'm connected.lvl_13
