    ooh... bad setup you have at home. The router is downstream of the Mac? (I just convinced a friend to ditch that setup)

    Using a USB modem into the Mac sucks, as you are using dialup protocols (drops the DSL connection on sleep, and all your connected wireless clients lose it too, right).

    Have you though about getting a combo adsl modem/router/wireless basestation (they are getting cheaper)... that way the router always stays online, the wireles sis always online, and you just choose DHCP on each connected computer, and way less configuration hassles.

    For remote access, since you dont have a router between DSL and Mac, you'll just choose the IP of your DSL connection (is it fixed IP?)

    How are you accessing on the PC? ('Map Network Folder' to create a drive icon?)
